Step 1
Build the Yaff page first
Add memberships that map to your Patreon tiers, plus a few public or members-only posts so the new page does not look empty.

Step 2
Announce on Patreon and everywhere else
Post to patrons, email them, and add yaff.io/yourname to YouTube, Instagram and your link-in-bio. Be explicit about what they get on Yaff (chat, photo dumps, videos, ebooks) and the fee difference if you are on Starter (5%) or a 0% paid plan.

Step 3
Gift a free pass if you want to overlap
Turn on a free-pass code on a tier and send /yourname/free-pass to patrons you do not want to charge immediately. That creates an active Yaff subscription with no Stripe invoice.

Step 4
Cancel Patreon when you are ready
Patreon cancellation is on their side. Yaff cannot cancel Patreon memberships for you.
What does not happen automatically
Yaff does not import messages, posts, patron lists, or billing history from Patreon. Anyone who wants access must create a Yaff login (passwordless email) and subscribe or redeem a free pass.
