What Yaff does not do
There is no Stripe Tax integration and no GST or VAT toggle on products or memberships. Prices you set are the prices Stripe charges. Yaff does not issue tax invoices on your behalf.
GST (high level)
Goods and services tax applies in several countries. In New Zealand, Inland Revenue expects many residents who carry on a taxable activity and exceed the GST registration threshold to register and account for GST. In Australia, the ATO has rules for GST on digital products and for creators who meet the registration threshold. Whether memberships and digital sales are taxable, and whether you must charge GST on top of your Yaff price, depends on your situation. This page is not advice — talk to an accountant and your local tax authority (for example ird.govt.nz or ato.gov.au). Yaff will not add GST for you.
VAT and other sales taxes
Value-added tax (VAT) and similar sales taxes apply in the UK, EU and other places. The same product rule holds: Yaff will not add VAT at checkout or file returns. Confirm digital-services rules with a tax professional and your local authority.
Stripe onboarding
Stripe may collect tax IDs while you connect payouts. That is Stripe’s compliance process, not Yaff remitting GST or VAT.
