How to Sell Videos and Paid Posts on Yaff

Step 1

Create the product

Dashboard → New Content. Choose video, post or photos. Add a title, description and promo image.
Step 2

Upload a video

Video uses a direct Mux upload (MP4, MOV or similar). Yaff generates captions and waits until video_processed is true before the public shop lists it. Short clips take a few minutes; longer files can take 15–30 minutes.
Step 3

Set access and publish

Same access types as ebooks: public, for purchase, all members, or select memberships. Use publish_at to schedule. Hidden (visible = false) items stay off the public shop.

Streaming, not downloads

Video playback uses signed Mux tokens. There is no supporter download button for video products. Ebooks are the downloadable type.

Photo dumps

Photos is a separate product type from posts. Use it for trail or boat galleries you do not want to write as an article.

Frequently asked questions

What video size is allowed?

There is no strict file-size cap in the help for Mux uploads. MP4 (H.264) processes fastest. Profile videos (the bio player) are a different upload and are capped at 500MB.

Can I sell a single video without a membership?

Yes — set access to for purchase.

When do supporters get notified?

A recurring job looks for newly visible, published products about every 15 minutes and emails supporters. Tips are excluded from those notifications.
