A long trip already produces the raw material of an ebook: daily logs, photos, the story of how the crew actually got from one coast to the next. Sailing and travel creators often leave that archive in disappearing Stories. Sailing Uno put theirs on Yaff instead.
They bought Uno, a 44ft catamaran, in Greece and sailed across the Mediterranean, then across the Atlantic. On their Yaff page that crossing is a shop, a logbook, and a members' feed — not only a highlight reel.
The centrepiece is a one-off ebook, Crossing the Atlantic: A Family Adventure, priced at US$5. It is a first-hand account of their Atlantic crossing.
Alongside it they posted free day-by-day passage logs from Gibraltar to the Canary Islands — Day 1 through Day 5, including recaps from October 2023. Anyone can read those posts. The paid layer is different: members-only free-diving videos (Gisèle and Jacques's first 10m attempts in Andratx, Mallorca) and members-only photo dumps from sailing.
Thanks to Yaff, we were able to quickly launch our ebook about our adventures on Uno. It's been a great way to connect with our community and share our story.
— Sailing Uno
You do not need a production studio. You need a PDF and a page your audience can find.
If you kept a passage log, a van diary, or a season of camp notes, that is the draft. Sailing Uno's free day-by-day logs show the shape: one post per day, written while the trip is still close. An ebook is those days, edited into one file people can keep.
On Yaff an ebook is a downloadable file. Charge a one-off price (Sailing Uno's Atlantic crossing ebook is US$5) or include it in a membership so paying members get the guide plus the ongoing feed. Starter is free with a 5% platform fee; optional paid plans drop the Yaff platform fee to 0%.
Uno's mix is the useful pattern for sailing and van-life channels: public logs that prove the story is real, a cheap ebook for people who want the whole crossing, and members-only video and photo dumps for the people funding the next season.

If you are already documenting a crossing, a season on the road, or a long hike, you can stand up the shop before the trip is over. Start your free Yaff page, upload the PDF, and point your audience at it.
See the live example on Sailing Uno's Yaff page. For the membership version of this idea, read memberships for sailing and van-life channels. If the product is the file itself, see sell ebooks and recipes.
