What a long day.

I finished my “what would happen if we shipwrecked video” this morning. I was super tired from the work I put into that video and living off the island that I was pretty spent the rest of the day.

We also moved to the other side of the atoll to dive the pass tomorrow and wind protection. It took about an hour of motoring. And now I’m working out at sunset and watching little blacktip sharks swim underneath us.

There’s a super yacht next to us tonight and I always think how neat it is that they spent 30 million to do it I’m doing and I’m only spending a couple thousand. Pretty wild.

Thanks for the video. I lived on an atoll for a year; it was the best experience ever. No end to swimming, diving, skiing, great weather, and total isolation from everything common or familiar. Your visit to this atoll is a gift that most will never experience.

Eniwetok. Sometimes, they spell it Enewetak. It's in the Marshall Islands, a place you guys would really enjoy. Because of being there, I can sooooooooo relate to your atoll experiences. I found a wrecked catamaran, repaired it, and started my sailing ventures. I had limited resources for the repairs made, and eventually found myself marooned on the broken craft in a super deep channel into and out of the atoll, being swarmed by sharks and aggressive waves. I had just caught a fish, gaffed it, brought it bleeding on board to a canvas deck which decided to tear from all the commotion. After nearly 20 harrowing minutes, my friend, driving a small boat, showed up, and towed me out of danger to a nearby small island. The sharks never left. In about 2 feet of water, I made a mad dash for land, the sharks nipping at my heels the entire eternal distance. My heart still pounds at those thoughts. If you enlarge this image, the channel I mentioned, and the 'escape' island are clearly visible.
