I get that too. I live in the mountains in Idaho and very attuned to silence. You have the experience of the ocean/wind sound now in your bones
That’s true. The sounds of the ocean on a sailboat are something I can always return to now.

One day I’ll tell my kids I crossed the Pacific Ocean at 23 with a group of friends and a family that’s been living on a boat for 10 years.
Oh, and I turned 24 today :)
We’ve already driven around the entire island and visited the world famous Teahupoʻo wave.
