Bonaire isn't all that...

Kiting in a beautiful spot and crew updates
Bonaire is not what I remember it being all those years ago. It is a dry, arid, and hot place. Not to mention, it is a cruise port which means there are a lot of tourists, and things are very expensive. It has been 8 years since I've been here, and this time I won't forget it...
Of all the potential for wind sports and kiteboarding, they have regulated it so heavily, only allowing kiteboarding to a small beach. A launch area of nearly 100m and a kite area of only 300m. It gets packed, and most people are beginners. Afterwards we drive back to enjoy a gelato joint which costs $5 for two scoops. Not super expensive, but not cheap.
Firstly, Skylar will be staying with us til Panama. She originally aimed to fly out of Bonaire but slyly bought a refundable and changeable flight incase she wanted to stay longer. Finn and Kate seem to be very happy, which makes me happy. It is an odd feeling, seeing my younger siblings with partners of their own. Also, Anna is back! Only for a few days though. She's flying in for a short vacation to catch up, dive, and enjoy us :)
Secondly, the crew member I invited out from Florida to Puerto Rico, Hallie Smith, is joining us again in Panama! She'll be tagging along all the way to Tahiti. She initially departed in PR because that was the agreement and she had other plans. A week later I invited her to join us across the Pacific, which she excitedly said yes too. It will be a first for me––having a romantic interest sail across an ocean in close quarters for an extended amount of time. It's nearly 30 days at sea, and then two more months from when we touch down in French Polynesia to Tahiti. Even for me that sounds daunting––to join a family for that long not fully knowing them. Either way, she will know our family very well after we get to FP. I am disregarding any expectations other than that of: I want it to be a good time for everyone involved. We're fortunate enough to be a boat, in tropical spots, sailing across oceans, we ought enjoy life and not let silly semantics get the better of anyone. Godspeed man, godspeed.
